Mariners SP Hisashi Iwakuma undergoes shoulder surgery

Hisashi Iwakuma, who won a career-high 16 games last season but has pitched in only six games this year, underwent shoulder surgery this week, the pitcherannounced Friday via Instagram.The 36-year-old right-hander, who hasnot pitched since May 3, is expected to start throwing again in five months, according to the Seattle Times.
